I love photographing weddings at Killearn Village Hall. I’ve photographed several weddings there now, and it’s become a favourite wedding destination for me. This is a light and airy space. It’s convenient for wedding guests as it’s approximately half an hour from Glasgow, so it’s still handy for access to the airport or train station. Killearn Village Hall also big and spacious, so it works really well as a venue for a lot of guests.
And the food is fantastic.
Why I love Killearn Village Hall Weddings
Aside from that? Views across Stirlingshire, with Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond sitting on the horizon, from tall elongated windows while you and your guests enjoy dinner. A gorgeous lawn for good weather, or the use of the garden room for guests who want a little more shelter. A dedicated stage for musicians or DJs to entertain the guests.
(Did I mention the food? oh, the food.)
Cakes. All manner of cakes from the kitchen of Three Sisters Bake. Gluten free, dairy free, nut free options, meaning all your guests can enjoy their dessert.
I love it. Gary and Lynn’s day was perfect. I have to admit I think they were perfectly matched with Killearn Village Hall. I honestly can’t imagine their wedding in any other venue. It suited them so well. Their day was relaxed, fun, and it fitted well with the spaciousness and airy feel of the hall. When the weather turned, we were able to utilise the windows for some photographs.
Lynn stayed in a local Killearn AirBnB the night before, it was only a short distance to the village hall afterwards. It worked extremely well for her as there were plenty of rooms and large windows – perfect for make up artists to use the natural light.
A fun-filled wedding day
Their wedding was a great day, filled with merriment and dancing and music. They had named each table after a different brand of gin, and a friend drove Lynn to the hall in his vintage MG car. It was the sort of day when people were smiling constantly. From a photography perspective, it made for amazing candid photographs. I love looking for guests who are relaxed and having fun, and this wedding had that in abundance.
