The Bothy in Glasgow is one of my favourite wedding venues to photograph micro-weddings. Christopher and Daniel’s wedding was a perfect and amazing celebration. I guarantee that the best dressed and most stylish wedding guests are always at Bothy weddings!

Christopher and Daniel had a wonderful celebrant – the amazing Fiona Bennie – to perform their ceremony, with a reading from one of their guests.

Fabulous Micro Wedding Venue

The Bothy is a cracking venue for micro-weddings in Glasgow and I absolutely love photographing them there. The scullery is a wonderful space that offers a truly intimate and relaxed atmosphere. There aren’t many wedding venues like the Bothy. This is an opportunity for guests to sit on comofortable chairs around a large table with a drink in hand, and relax during the ceremony.

I also love how it’s decorated. The scullery has an authentic rustic atmosphere, with a beautiful dropped centrepiece across the table. You can dress it up as much as you like – Christopher and Daniel hired Glasgow Every Bloomin’ Thing Florists to help dress the room and add their own stamp to their micro wedding.

Casual Family Wedding Photos

After the ceremony, we headed outside for some casual family photos. I’m a huge fan of keeping group photos fairly chilled especially with micro weddings in Glasgow. The way I see it, these photos are a record of who’s there on the day, in all their finery and people look happier in photos when they feel relaxed. So no standing to attention, no awkward directions about weight, twisting, turning, blah blah blah. Micro weddings are meant to be fun, chilled events, the photos need to reflect that.

Cute couple portraits round Glasgow West End

Christopher and Daniel and I headed out for a couple portraits on the lanes near Ruthven Lane. There are so many gorgeous spots around there, with red bricks and quiet lanes, it made the best backdrop for some really sweet loved-up photos of these newlyweds sharing an intimate moment.

I really adored the affection these two had for one another. I think when you’re just married in that moment, there’s a wonderful rush of newlywed love that you get for one another. Honestly, you really get the hots for each other like no other time before and the best part is you never anticipate how much you’ll feel it. It totally showed in Daniel and Christopher’s couple portraits.
