Photography from a Luxurious Grand Central Hotel Wedding, Glasgow

The Grand Central Hotel is a luxurious wedding venue in the centre of Glasgow and perfect for hosting a large wedding, such as the one that Helen and Stewart asked me to photograph. I loved working this elegant and fun wedding as their chosen Grand Central Hotel wedding photographer.

We had a day of glorious sunshine as well, which meant taking lots of amazing photos with a cosmopolitan vibe to them.

The Grand Central Hotel is located close to Central Station, and is as central as you can get for a wedding venue in Glasgow! It opened it’s doors in 1883, and has hosted many famous celebrities over the years. They even have a wall of fame, celebrating celebrity guests from Billy Connelly to JFK, Nat King Cole and Charlie Chaplin.

Grand Central Hotel – The Wedding Preparations

I started the morning at Helen’s suite, with her family and hair and make-up team. It was a fairly relaxed start to the day, and I loved the gold and ivory Flossy and Dossy bespoke dress with matching gold lace shoes and headpiece by Modiste.

Wedding Ceremony at The Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow

Helen and Stewart had booked the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow to celebrate their wedding ceremony with their friends and family. It’s quite a unique space, with the most incredible view across Glasgow’s Buchanan Street.Their florist, Floral Menagerie, had created a beautiful archway which framed the window perfectly across the semi circle shaped room. The seating layout was in a semi-circle shape, meaning all the guests got a great view of Helen and Stewart as they tied the knot, with Stewart’s father as their celebrant. This made it an extra special occasion for them.

Wedding Photography in Glasgow City Centre

While wedding guests enjoyed canapes and drinks at the Grand Central Hotel, Helen and Stewart and I headed off for some photographs. I love exploring this amazing city with couples. Glasgow has so many locations for beautiful wedding photography that you can create an abudance of images in a short walk and timescale. I particularly love GoMA – this is an elegant location to work in Glasgow as a wedding photographer and create some classic looks.

Wedding Reception with Ernest at Grand Central Hotel

Ernest wedding band are one of the most in demand groups in Scotland. This is a band who know exactly how to fill a dance floor, and get a party started! They’re one of my favourite Scottish wedding bands to work with. I know I’m going to get some amazing photo opportunities! They’re also incredibly friendly, which earns them a lot of respect with other wedding suppliers.

The room at Grand Central Hotel was ideal for buzzing wedding dance floor and I loved photographing the guests as they threw their moves to the fabulous beats.
