Rowallan Castle in Ayrshire is such a gift for a wedding photographer. It’s a stunning location that really lends itself well to creating beautiful photographs.
I was so happy when Guy and Kate booked me as their photographer for their wedding at Rowallan Castle. I went to visit it in the run-up to their wedding and explore the grounds a little more. Katie, their coordinator at Rowallan was on hand to give me advice about their plans. Guy and Kate were both getting ready at the Castle in the morning. This meant I was able to visit them both during preps.
Stunning Wedding Venue in Ayrshire
They had their wedding in late September, so the creeper on the front of Rowallan Castle was brilliant red. This made a great back drop for some wedding photographs later. It was also a lovely warmth in the air as well – sunset was just towards the end of their meal. We were able to pop out onto the terrace for some photographs in the golden light.
We were able to head to the old Rowallan Castle as well for some couple portraits. This gave them a chance to get away for a few moments and have some quality time together during their wedding day.
As a wedding venue in Ayrshire, Rowallan Castle is an amazing location. I love how close it is to Glasgow. It also has various rooms and spaces to use for break out areas for wedding guests. It’s also fantastic for a wedding photographer in Ayrshire since it has great options inside and out for photographs. Ideal if the weather is inclement.
Kate and Guy had lots of beautiful personal touches in their day. They had photographs of their families from weddings past. Kate’s veil also had embroidered flowers representing their three heritages as well. It included the Scottish thistle, English rose, and an Indian lotus.
Probably my favourite though was their first dance, as they had an amazing choreographed routine! Again, this combined their heritages together, before the ceilidh began.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for the lovely pictures! We’re really pleased with them and are enjoying looking through them.Guy and Kate
